Water or Lipton Iced Tea?

This is video of water from the shower in our banda in Africa. You’ll see me fill up a bucket in a dim-lit bathroom then carry it outside so you can see it better.

I mean. Come on now! How gross is that!? Sometimes leaves and limbs would come out of the faucet. Leaves and limbs!! We washed our dishes in that water. We washed our clothes in that water. We washed our SELVES in that water. Sometimes I wondered if there was a point to washing anything! But that’s camping, right? In Mbeya the water won’t come straight from a river so it will be much better. We’ll still need to filter it but we won’t be starting with brown, dirty water.

And, yes, that was a pink loofah in the shower. Sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

I’m wondering if I should let Barbara see this video. Giving Daniel a bath in “Lipton Tea” seems just plain wrong, but I imagine he will be fine. When I was a kid in New Orleans people would say “Don’t give me no coffee that you can see through”, but I don’t remember anyone every wanting that for their water To be honest I gagged while watching the video. I tried to imagine how a woman with heavy duty morning sickness must have reacted to the same thing!
