He’s HERE!
At 6:04pm, Asher Chad McCall was born weighing 7lbs. 13oz and measuring 22in. He’s healthy. Dana’s healthy. He’s happy. Dana’s nursing.
5:09pm
Just had another check and Dana’s about 9.5cm. They just rolled the baby warmer into the room and they’re gearing up for his arrival!
2:44pm
The next midwife check is at 3pm. The contractions are really intense. Please pray for her to be at least at 6cm so she’ll be encouraged that her hard work is paying off.
1:57pm
Dana is hanging in there very well. She had a good rhythm going until the midwife hooked her up to an IV of penicillin. Just getting the IV in was traumatic to Dana. She spent a good while in the shower and is now in bed. I’m not sure of the next time the midwife is planning on checking her.
10:10am
We’ve spent most of the last hour walking around the birthing center. Better for Dana to deal with the contractions this way. They have intensified again and she’s now at 3cm 70%. I’m about to run downstairs to eat breakfast and our doula is going to help Dana with a nice shower.
8:11am
We’re in the hospital room and Dana’s contractions are about 2 minutes apart. She’s almost 2cm dilated and 70% effaced. She’s on the full fetal monitor right now waiting for him to wake up before we get her back up out of the bed to walk around. Asher’s heart rate is between 130 and 150 bpm now that he’d beginning to wake up.
It’s Gonna Be a Bright & Sun-shiny Day
Doesn’t matter what the weather forecast looks like because Dana appears to be in early labor. We’ve been up since 3am watching for increased intensity, closer together. We want to spend as much time here at home as possible.
March 4 would be a cool birth date.

We are waiting for him
Ain’t that the truth! This is worse than waiting for our departure date to Africa back in July! We still have no ‘big’ indicators that he is close. Although, Dana is having some pretty intense braxton-hicks contractions tonight.
We’ll see.
