Hooked on: Lime!

Julia over at Hooked on Houses is having another party today!! Today, I am hooked on Tostitos with a hint of Lime!

Lord have mercy, these things are so good!! I can literally sit down and eat the whole bag (which is probably NOT so good)! What’s even better is enjoying them with my homemade salsa!

Angela’s Homemade Salsa

1 big fresh tomato

1 can diced or stewed tomatoes (no salt added)

1 jalapeno

2 banana peppers

4-5 cloves of garlic

1/2 of a large purple onion

Olive oil

Lemon or lime juice

Parsley

Salt/Pepper

Cilantro (optional) – I am part of the 25% of the population who thinks Cilantro tastes like soap!

Drained/Rinsed black beans (optional)

Whole kernel corn (optional)

In the food processor, mix the fresh tomato and the canned tomatoes. Pour into mixing bowl. Next, add to the food processor: jalapeno*, banana peppers*, and garlic. Mix until pretty well ground, and add to mixing bowl. Chop the purple onion very fine (the vegetable chopper works great for this!) and add to mixing bowl. Add to mixing bowl: a few swirls of olive oil and juice, and all other ingredients listed. Combine, and let sit in frig for an hour or so to let all the flavors mesh.

* For my jalapeno and banana peppers – I leave just a bit of the innerds because that’s where the spice really comes in!

Enjoy with Tostitos with a hint of Lime!

Also, be sure to check out what everyone else is hooked on over at Hooked on Houses!

Oh my gosh, I share your hooked-ness on Lime Tostitos! Best of all, my son doesn’t like them so I get more of them :)
The salsa sounds great. Corn and black beans make salsa so much better. Uh-oh, now I’m hungry.

Oh, my gosh, homemade salsa? You’re speakin’ my language. Sounds delicious! My sister-in-law was raving about the Tostitos with lime when we were together at Christmas. I’ll have to try them sometime!

Thanks for stopping by our blog :-)

I LOVE lime!! Lime Tostitos are really good. Another lime snack I really like are lime & chili soya sticks. They’re hard to find — I only know of one store here that sells them. The cashier thought I was nuts when I told her how good they are. She was just a bit anti-soya!!

Your salsa recipe sounds yummy — thanks for sharing it :-)
