Goin’ to Church
Posted in Me, Myself, & I by: Angela
This is how I work around not having a scanner….taking a digital picture of an old polaroid.
This picture is me in front of the parsonage – when I was a wee little thing – probably on my way over to the church (which you can see in the background). My Daddy was the preacher, and that ‘66 convertible Mustang you see behind me, he still has it. My brother drove that car for years, but it’s recently hit retirement, and no one has the heart to part with it.
My dress – I’m sure my Ma-Ma made this dress, and I am carrying a white Bible that I’m sure we found in the ‘lost n found’ bin. But it was white, and I wanted a white Bible. And that pink purse – oh, I sure hope my mom still has that purse in her cedar chest. This pink purse was my very most favorite – it was one of the reversible ones – pink w/ green turtles on one side, and green on the other side. And the purse had little buttons at the top to hold it to the wooden handles.
These were the days! Be sure to check out everyone else’s memories over at Gayle’s Monday Memories Party.

Great idea to take a digital photo of another photo!
How cute! You are so color coordinated with your dress, your bible and your purse! Let us know if your mom has the purse in her cedar chest!
Wow! That is so cool that your dad still has that car.
Thank you for linking to your post at Monday Memories!

Thanks for visiting & leaving a comment at my blog. Love the scanner-work-around. Don’t know what I’d do w/o mine. You were a young bible-toting fashionista! Your memories make me want to dig up an old picture I think I have somewhere of my dad painting brown racing stripes on his car…

What a cutie! And I confess, I have done the same thing, take a picture of a picture because I am too lazy to scan it. We really should be ashamed.
Thanks for stopping by my place.

You look so cute! About the car…Wow! I LOVE Mustangs! I have a 1965 red Mustang that my dad restored for my first car. I’m 37 now and I’m getting ready to start driving it on a daily basis again. We live in a small town and it should work out great!
