Monday Memories

This is a picture of me in one of my most favorite nightgowns. Why was it a favorite? Because it was storebought.

When I was growing up, I wore 90% homemades and hand-me-downs. The other girls were wearing Keds, Guess, Levi, and Osh Kosh. My hair bows were made of brace rubberbands and ribbon by the yard. The other girls were wearing big puffy bows.

Funny, now the “in” thing to wear homemade! I wish I had known then what I know now!

To check out some other memories, skoot over to Gayle’s Monday Memories Party!

PS – I ate lunch at this same table and chairs yesterday…that’s pretty cool, huh?!

Angela, you look so cute! My mom sewed and she made a few things for me when I was little. I remember one time she made matching dresses for herself and me and I loved them! But most of my stuff was store bought. Even with my store bought things, I was never fashionable! We couldn’t afford the fancy label stuff and I really have no fashion sense anyway! Still don’t.

That is cool that you ate at the same table yesterday!

Thank you for joining Monday Memories!

I think I wore all home sewn dresses when I was a kid. My mom couldn’t sew, but Grandma could. Mom made sure I learned to sew, which I used to do a lot. Sadly, I made very few things for my kids when they were little–no time. My sewing skills are pretty rusty these days. By the way, I love that table and chair set. It would look perfect at my house!! : )
PS. I love your blog name. Peonies may be my favorite flower!
